International Advanced Research Schools in Physics (IARS)
All IARS activities are designed for international participation and conducted in English (unless mentioned).
IARS schools take place in a highly interactive environment. In addition to in-class lectures, most programs are designed in a way to expose the participants to concrete hands-on training in supervised problem solving sessions closely related to current research problems of the topic studied. In most cases we allow and encourage young participants with strong applications to present their research results in short afternoon seminars. Those participants with accepted short presentations will also be considered for financial support partially covering the local expenses during their stay.
In all IARS activities the national participants' local expenses are covered by our state projects. For the fees applied to international participants please refer to the "Rates & Services" page. Travel expenses of the national and international participants cannot be supported in IARS activities.
Information about which activity is held at which ITAP campus is also included in the activities below as well as the updated ITAP Guide for Participants.
Details of the events as well as their web pages can be found below. Online applications are available here. Beware of the different deadlines for different programs.

This summer school and the follow-up workshop are jointly organized by ITAP, Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP) and Academia Sinica (Taiwan) and planned to be the continuation of the 2011 Eurasia-Pacific meeting. (Here is more information about the 2011 meeting.) The main themes are Superconductivity (cuprates, iron-based compounds, heavy fermions), Topological insulators and quantum spin Hall effects, Graphene & carbon nanotubes, Fractional quantum Hall; bilayers; two-dimensional electron liquids at oxide interfaces, Magnetic manganites & cobaltites, etc. The seven-day school part, is designed for training young researchers on the advances in these fields and is followed up by a four day international workshop. This summer school/workshop is planned to internationally rotate within the supporting organizations starting from 2013.

This event is a natural extension of the Greek-Turkish meetings on Statistical Mechanics and Dynamical Systems, that have been organized in 2008 and 2010. This international event is open for the participation of scientists from around the world and working in statistical mechanics and dynamical systems. Scientists from the Eurasia-Mediterranean region are particularly encouraged to attend.

This international school and workshop on coherence and condensation in low dimensional systems aims at training young researchers in the recent advances in atomic and excitonic Bose-Einstein condensed systems. The school is in the scope of the series of schools organized at ITAP in the past, in particular Electronic/Optical Coherence in Low Dimensional Semiconductors and Atomic Gases in 2009, and Frontier Topics in Bose-Einstein Condensation in Atoms & Semiconductors in 2010. More details about the 2012 program will be available shortly.

Astro ITAP and ITAP Center for Science and Society, jointly organize in 2012 summer a number of physics and astronomy festivals for families with children. The families are expected to attend the festival where the fun and exciting side of physics and astronomy will be exposed with demonstrations of the laws of physics, observations on the sun, solar system and the deep-sky, tips for building table-top low cost creative experimental models, active involvement in simple fun experiments and exciting family competitions (We are determined to make the table-top science a typical family event). The participants are expected to cover their expenses during the activity. A daily fee of 95 TL for the parents and 60 TL for the children will be charged which includes accommodation, meals and all educational expenses. For those with outside of ITAP accommodation arrangements the daily fees are 75 TL and 50 TL respectively for parents and for children. The families will also have a free time for nearly 6 hours/day for discovering the environment in Turunç/Marmaris. More details in english on the project web page with online application forms will be announced later. 2012 Physics and Astronomy Festivals’ Programs and Applications
